This morning Cristobal went over an introductory presentation that Canales typically uses when they visit a school for the first time. Afterwards we traveled to Puerto Varas to meet with Macarena from Endeavor. The Endeavor web site says, "Endeavor helps entrepreneurs grow, breaking down barriers and giving them the tools to be successful: mentoring, networking, strategic support, talent, skills, access to smart capital, and inspiration."
We spoke to Macarena about the Canales Entrepreneurship program. The Canales program provides local high school teachers with a classroom module that will develop employability skills in students and will install entrepreneurship as a culture of their life. A goal of the program is to raise the EQ (Emotional Intelligence Quotient) of students by enhancing their soft skills.
The ride to Puerto Varas was much different than yesterday's ride to Hornopiren. Puerto Varas is about 12 miles north of Puerto Montt. It takes about 25 minutes to travel from Puerto Montt to Puerto Varas.
After lunch Gayathri, Evan, and I had a checkpoint meeting with Dan, Marcia, and Cristobal. We also revisited the scope of work with the intent of defining our end of week 4 goals. This was an interesting exercise as we hit some differences of opinion that were related to our different work backgrounds.
This evening the entire Chile 5 team met to discuss our weekend activities. After nearly 2 hours of discussion no clear cut decision was made. The consensus seems be travelling to Chiloe Island, but there is still ambiguity on the duration of the trip (day trip vs 1 night trip vs 2 night trip).
Below are pictures from today's trip to Puerto Varas.
