I noticed that my Day 20 post appears before my Day 18 and 19 posts. I assumed the posts would be ordered chronologically by time, but apparently not. Guess that is what I get for falling behind on my posting. I wonder what order the posts I do today will be in.
Days 21 and 22 were fairly uneventful. On Friday we went back into the Canales office because we had 9:30 am, 11:00 am, and 4:00 pm meetings scheduled. When we got into the office we found the 9:30 meeting was cancelled. The 11:00 meeting was a working group meeting for aquaculture teachers. We were attending as observers. Gayathri and Evan declined the invitation. Typically in meetings where we are observers it is very difficult for Bernie to translate. Usually she whispers the translation and only one of us can hear her. Given where we are it made sense for only one of us to attend. The meeting at 4:00 pm was a meeting with Marcia (our local Pyxera rep). Her other meetings ran over and she did not get to the Canales office until nearly 5:30. Fortunately the meeting was short. In reality, we probably did not even need to be there as she was mainly interested in knowing if Cristóbal had any concerns.
Friday evening all 12 of us on the Chile 5 team went out together for dinner. I'm not sure we had all 12 together at a meal since the weekend trip to Chiloé. It was nice for everybody to be together again.
On Saturday 8 of the 12 went on a day trip to some hot springs. I was one of those that passed on the trip. I had intended to do some shopping and work on our final presentation. Neither of those plans turned out very well. Saturday was very rainy so I did not have a chance to do any shopping. Also on Saturday my wireless access was very bad. This slowed my work efforts immensely (no google translate). Prior to Friday night my wireless access was slow, but very reliable. Others on the team had experienced problems with the wireless from day 1. I had lent my ethernet cable to one of them earlier in the week. Unfortunately, that person was on the trip to the hot springs so I could not ask for it back until Sunday evening.
